It is hard to believe that the summer has ended and the 2010 – 2011 Canton Newcomer year has begun. It seems like just yesterday, we were enjoying friends and family at the June Newcomer picnic. I would like to welcome both our returning members and our new members to join us at our September meeting at the Sunflower Clubhouse. This meeting will feature activities that help us get to know one another better, and I guarantee that you will have fun! During the meeting, we will also be raising money and collecting items for First Step, an organization that helps victims of abuse. Also, be sure to renew your membership or begin a new membership prior to or at the September meeting so that you are included in the drawing for a free membership!

The Board members and Interest Group Leaders have been hard at work to make sure that we have many fun and rewarding activities for our members this year. I challenge everyone to attend an activity that you have not tried in the past. I know it is very difficult to attend an event with unfamiliar faces, but I assure you that our events are welcoming and our members will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

This is going to be a great Newcomer year! I am looking forward to seeing everyone in September.
